Ecology, or ecological science, is the scientific study of living organisms and their environment. Ecology as a career is one most people enter because they enjoy nature; it is not a career to pursue for money or social status, as most jobs are fairly low paid.
How to become an Ecologist...
Due to the limited ecology jobs available, the minimum you would need is a bachelor's or master's level degree, and most ecologists’ today have further obtained their Ph.D. Not all ecologists conduct research, however. Today's ecologists include college teachers, research scientists, and conservation ecologists in environmental organizations such as the Nature Conservancy.
