	Job Description Automotive Research and Development Engineer Location: Milton Keynes, UK Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 (commensurate with skills and experience) Our client is a market leading vehicle security consultancy. They work closely with vehicle manufacturers and their suppliers to enable them to develop cost effective, class-leading products for world markets. The role involves • Conducting technical research into automotive telematics • Investigating specific customer technical requests • Writing technical research reports, whitepapers, or client briefings etc • Carrying out technical benchmarking to assess system performance Relevant competences You must have an engineering degree and a background of working with vehicle manufacturers or first tier suppliers in R & D. Alternatively you should have experience as a technical writer. Commercial experience is essential and you should have some knowledge of the following; • Automotive component and systems development • Project management • Presenting technical topics to an audience • Writing technical reports • Managing client requests You should be self-motivated with a track record of managing tasks, and delivering on schedule with minimal supervision. You will also take pride in your work and demonstrate a commitment to the highest quality standards for content and presentation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Proficiency in data analysis is expected and the ability to present your findings in reports that are logical, well-structured and easy to read. Your communication skills should be well developed to communicate technical information to clients either at meetings or through more formal presentations.
