Translation Company - Graduate Operations Co-ordinator
London
Languages Graduate required to join prestigious London Translation company.
Salary = £16.5K rising to £17.5K after 3 months + Bonus + Benefits
Position for a languages graduate intent on building a long-term career within the translation industry in London.
Our client is a specialist translation company based in Central London. They are looking to employ a candidate with strong business skills to work in the operations team. Along with every employee the client insist on identifying a linguist who can empathise with the translation tasks but you will not be required to use your language skills on a day to day basis.
Job requirements
A 2.1 or 1st class degree from a UK University, English as a mother tongue language and fluency in a Western European language.
Job role
The role will include the following tasks:-
Operations
Job management
1. Enter job details into the Job system, maintaining up to date information as the job progresses. 2. Based on the client’s requirements and the job’s characteristics, calculate the time required to complete the work and issue delivery dates as required in conjunction with the Sales Team. 3. Forward job details and liaise with translators. 4. Monitor job deadlines and ensure that translators return work on time. 5. Identify job issues and keep the Team Leader informed. 6. Liaise with translators and clients to ensure swift and smooth resolution of queries. 7. Forward completed work to the Client as prescribed in the Job System. 8. Prepare and issue sales invoices based on the details in the Work-in-progress System once the job has been completed. 9. Maintain the Job file, ensuring there is a complete document audit trail.
Translator selection
1. Based on the job requirements; use the Translator Database to select appropriate translators, ensuring the maintenance of target profit margins. 2. Contact the translators and ascertain whether they are available to meet the job deadline. 3. Identify specialism requirements. 4. Issue Purchase Orders and instructions to translators.
Proofchecking
1. Check completed translations for sense, omissions, typos, numbers etc and correct where necessary. 2. Liaise with translators to resolve any issues raised by the proofchecking.
