Investment Manager Assistant / Executive PA Based London, W1 - Competitive Salary and Benefits
Our client is a privately owned investment company with offices in London and New York. They specialise in international investment management. The Company is a long only asset manager that principally invests in publicly traded equity securities. They require an individual to perform PA tasks to a Head of Research and to three Junior Fund Managers.
Job Description
Our client is offering a varied role which has core secretarial / PA tasks and the scope for additional responsibilities. The successful candidate will be very organised with an ability to communicate efficiently and precisely with a research focussed fund management team. This will require a broad interest in investment and the ability to focus on the research based needs of a fund manager. Our client intends to hire a candidate with a long-term commitment to this specific role and whilst it will develop in terms of responsibilities and remuneration the position will retain the core secretarial tasks listed below:
• Circulating research notes and proofreading investment manager notes and correspondence • Using Excel to assist investment managers in the preparation of company statistics and graphs, including manipulating data found in annual accounts. • Downloading research material from the Internet, Bloomberg, Thomson One Analytics and Factset (training given) • Arranging meetings, maintaining diaries, booking, setting up and clearing meeting rooms • Arranging meetings, lunches, booking restaurants & transportation • Typing letters, memos, minutes, company investment reports, faxes, fielding & printing emails • Proofreading investment notes and outgoing correspondence • Production of investment reports in Adobe Acrobat • Creating & editing presentations in PowerPoint • Arranging overseas itineraries, ordering foreign currency & completing expense reports • Manning the office switchboard and reception desk in a cover capacity • Ordering foreign currency, reimbursing travellers following provision of completed expense reports and authorised claim forms • Ordering UK & overseas couriers, operating franking machine & posting mail • Ordering books and publications, as well as maintaining in-house library
Requirements
• Graduate with experience within a financial or PA related environment. • Competence with Microsoft Office combined with a good typing speed. • An interest in both the operations and practices of financial markets. • Applicants’ must be seeking a long-term, permanent position and be able to support this with a proven track record of permanent employment (candidates with a short-term contracting background will not be considered).
