ITS and Telematics Engineer – Automotive Sector
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £40K- £45K dependent upon experience
The Company
Our client is a specialist provider of Intelligent Transport Systems and Telematics solutions to the
automotive sector.
The Role
You will be involved in strategic and technical consulting projects that build on your existing knowledge of end user needs, markets trends and technology developments.
The ideal candidate will be looking for career development from an engineering role to a senior engineer level, with the potential to develop within the company as it moves forward.
Responsibilities include:
Analysing market drivers and making recommendations to our clients for the development of future products and services
Delivering specific research projects to our client base
Managing the detailed implementation of projects including the development of high level specifications for in-car and infrastructure-based systems
Playing a key role in managing relationships with core client groups to ensure the highest levels of satisfaction and to identify new business opportunities
Requirements
Ideally you should have an engineering degree and a background of working with a vehicle manufacturer or Tier 1 supplier in the automotive industry.
With post graduate experience, you should have knowledge of the following industries and technologies:
• Component development and/or product planning
• Telematics, navigation & traffic information
• In-car entertainment & connectivity
• Wireless communications
• Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)
You should be self-motivated and self-sufficient with a track record of managing your work, and its on-time delivery, with minimal supervision. You will also take pride in your work and demonstrate a commitment to the highest quality standards for content and presentation.
You should be proficient in data analysis and be able to present your findings in reports that are logical, well-structured and easy to read. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a pre-requisite. As such, your writing should be fast, clear and concise and you should be able to easily explain technologies and avoid jargon.
Experience of working with Japanese companies would be advantageous.
