LAB MANAGER -Nuclear – Didcot - £Neg
Lab Manager-Nuclear. Nuclear Lab Manager to manage Nuclear Team to assign the analytical laboratory’s resources, staff and equipment in line with the specified company’s expectations in terms of productivity, financial viability, and quality. This will involve being responsible for workloads, job allocation, assigning responsibilities within the team and ensuring training is scheduled and completed. Other key responsibilities will include:
· To act as Project Manager, where appropriate, on major projects within the relevant market sector including discussions with customer, ensuring results are ‘fit-for-purpose’ and that deadlines are met.
· To provide consultancy to clients, where appropriate, within the relevant market sector
· To grow the business with nuclear customers
· Responsible for departmental budget, P&L and future forecasting.
· Specialist and technical management of analysis within the nuclear sectors
· Technical development of instrumental capabilities and researching future technologies. Results interpretation and writing technical reports to the customers
· Writing proposals, analytical procedures and QA documentation
· Technical discussions with customers, undertaking customer audits problem solving and issuing quotations or proposals as required
· Responsibility for the maintenance of UKAS QA requirements.
Requirements:
· Degree in chemistry or related subject
· Experience of laboratory analysis within the nuclear market – e.g. GFPC, Alpha Spec, Gamma Spec
· Experience in the management of analytical team
· Strong organisational and leadership skills
· Wide knowledge of analysis within nuclear markets |
