Job Description
Research Analyst – Bio-Medical / Life Sciences – London

About the Role

Our well-established client carry out a very focused approach to qualitative market research in order to provide decision and strategy support to some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

You will focus on primary research as you gather competitor intelligence on behalf of your client. You’ll be seeking out sensitive information that is not publicly available, investigating new areas of research and getting to the bottom of the latest developments. A significant portion of your time will be spent on the telephone, building relationships with industry experts and academics.

Quick learners will excel here – as you move from one project to the next, you’ll need to quickly get up to speed with a new therapy area or drug development. With exposure to the full drug lifecycle from preclinical to clinical development, regulatory and commercialization strategies, this is a great start to your career.

There is the opportunity for a rotation to the Los Angeles offices and you will also attend international conferences as an extension of the telephone research.

Your growth is fundamental to our client so you’ll be given a mentor and all the training you need to be a success. There are genuine opportunities to progress quickly. You’ll move into a Project Manager role which will give you management responsibilities and client contact.

Candidate Requirements:

You must have an undergraduate degree, and a higher degree (Masters or PhD) in the bio-medical or life sciences field (pharmacology, biomedicine, bio-engineering, natural sciences). Specific knowledge/experience in oncology is preferred but not essential. A range of other scientific academic backgrounds will also be considered (e.g. chemistry, engineering) if backed by experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

A firm understanding of competitor intelligence is essential. Foreign language proficiency and telephone research / pharmaceutical sales experience would be beneficial, as would an interest in business analysis and strategy.

Remuneration:

Starting salary will be circa £30,000 + annual performance related bonus + contributory pension.
