Headhunting, Search & Selection and Executive Search involve the high end recruitment placements, often when agencies work on a retained basis they conduct search methods to obtain suitable candidates. Usually the salary levels are high and can be from £30,000 upwards to six figure salary levels, Executive Search usually works on an interim or permanent placement. Roles within Executive Search include:

Contingency recruitment is the popular method of recruiting, it is broken down in stages. First the recruitemost popular method of recruitingr will pitch to win the business from a company recruiting, they will then obtain a brief which will detail what the client is looking for, the level of experience, any academic preferences and personality traits. The recruiter will then begin a candidate search from the agency’s own database and then the media job boards, all suitable candidates will have an in-depth interview either over the telephone or face-to-face. Once a candidate has been selected, the recruiter will give a full introduction into the client and will prepare the candidate for interview, the candidate must then be sold to the client and booked in for approval. Throughout the interview process a good recruitment consultant will keep in constant control and contact of both the candidate and client, they will provide feedback and information to allow the process to run smoothly. The Recruitment Consultant will also handle the offer process, dealing with salary negotiations and reference checks. Roles within Contingency recruitment include:

§ New Business Developer-responsible for generating new business for the agency, researching into vacancies and then cold calling businesses, persuading the key decision maker to use the agency to recruit for the positions.
§ Recruitment Consultant-a mixture of both resourcer and new business roles, you will manage the accounts of all the businesses you use and put forward candidates throughout the interview process, you earn commission on each placement you make.
§ Branch Manager-working to a budget, a Branch Manager is responsible for recruiting and motivating staff, setting targets and conducting staff appraisals.
